Reflectional

1.)    What do you think are the advantages of this Blog Project?

-          On the first 4 posts, it helps to know yourself better. As you recall your past, you’ll know what kind of person you are, how people around you help you to become a better person, and not limiting yourself but what you know you can do in your future. Knowing what have you done in your past may affect your own profession.

2.)    What do you think are the disadvantages of this Blog Project?

-          Having to face bad features about your post. Others may like it, but other may not. And setting where all of people can post a comment, you may encounter bad ones. And of course, what you post in your blog is what your own opinion is (about Social and Global Issues), that other people whose on the other side may not agree.

3.)    What are your reactions toward your peer comments on your blog posts?

-          So far, I received good comments from them. So it affects how I entertained myself while doing or making a post on my blog. Because as I review and see that they liked my posts, it feel glad to make a new one. And that helps a lot. Giving and having good comments at the same time.

4.)    What are the challenges the you encountered in this Blog Project?

-          As you try to create your posts, it helps if you know first how to say or express it correctly. But I think I still have that “LIMIT” when It comes to words that I use and creating a grammar correctly.

5.)    What is your all-over comment about this Blog Project?

-          It’s great expressing your own thoughts and ideas. Because of this project, you were given a chance to enhance your language, grammar, knowing yourself more and making a little research on a certain topic that you’ll post.

Global Issues

Noticing other countries as well…I found out that many of these experiencing war. As today (August 9, 2014), I researched about few wars that our world encountered.

And it surprised me that this day (080914), I found the news about “Israel strikes Gaza after militants resume rocket fire” and “U.S bombs Islamic state after Obama call to prevent Iraq ‘genocide’”.

From the title itself, you can easily identify that the news is about war.

And in local news headlines, I saw Filipino working abroad going back home here in Philippines because they’re scared of what may happened if they continue to work there.

But because of the money that they may earn, they still go back.

NEXT is the basic needs of all of us. Water, Foods, Shelter etc. We need these to live but as the population keeps on growing, we didn't noticed that we already lack of these basic needs.

Poverty all over the world but many of us still can’t experience that. There are so many people that need to experience a bit wealth but they cannot. And because they can't do that by

themselves, they ask it for their governments.

Even the politics about our global standards is not doing well. At least we have our presidents that lead us. But having problems also with our governments give us difficulties because they’re the one who represent our country for the world.

Global Commentary

Global Issues. I’m not really into “GLOBAL” issues but I heard some news about it. Here in Philippines, we can’t find Global News as much as other countries did.

But with the use of Cables and Technologies, we can reach the and gather news around the WORLD.

BUT…unfortunately…I only have internet to do that. We don’t have cables hahahaha :D
It’s okay as long as I can find information about the said topic through surfing the net. And I can find SOME news even if we don’t have cables in local channels.

So as we go on…giving reactions for GLOBAL ISSUES, I’m already aware that our country is one of the “Most topic” (I don’t know if I said it right? xD) country. Though it’s not a big country, but I think people keep an eye for Philippines as a small country who makes name by having issues and stuffs? HAHAHA

One of examples is about China and Philippines who both claimed one island. Which is talked about few months ago. They still keep on investigating who really owns the island.

Some country uses their strong force against those weak ones whom they know can’t fight with them.

Let’s all be aware about our not only for our surroundings but also for Global Issues.

Philippine's Society

Asking what’s happening in our society? Philippines. A country that having no day(s) without experiencing issues. I don’t exactly have the rights to put or give comments about these topics. I’m a student, I DON’T CARE.

But thinking of it again and again, I’m still a Filipino living in this country. I should care about it. I just don’t know how? Every speak of Filipinos counts. But as I noticed, our government were deaf for not hearing the screams of each and everyone of us.

All I can see in TV news is all about Government. What about them? NEGATIVE. I can’t hear any positive comments for them. A whole bunch of people who accusing each other for stealing, for being an accomplice, for being a huge mistake in our country…and etc.

You know what, having negative country reflects for those people staying there. What about those who doesn’t have any idea about it? What about those people who doesn’t have the power to speak for their own thoughts?

But as I can see in television news, as I heard from radios every Sunday morning, as I’ve read from newspaper headlines, even Filipinos not working in government make huge mistakes.
Maybe they think having rallies will work? NO. It makes worst.

How can these things will be fixed if we keep on blaming for each other’s faults? If these continues, I don’t believe that the time when all of this will come to an end will happened.

I guess I can give an opinion about it, but really can’t speak for it. How can I if I know that no really cares.

I know I will experience as what other people do, but until I get there, I hope that this society will grow and improve not just by itself but with help of all of us.

Our Society

We’re living in a simple society back then. We depend on what nature can give, we depend on what we have. And living in society before has a huge difference living in our society NOW.

Before: We plant rice, harvest them, and eat them.
Now: They plant, they harvest, they sell, WE eat.

Before: We study, we work, we benefit.
Now: We study, we work, people in other country benefits.

Before: Having a small amount of coins can buy you a lot.
Now: You can’t even buy candies with that.

I think it is because of having low economy or what? Or because of the huge population we have here? We experienced that I know. But some sort of things like that makes you realize why.

Because of the state of Society we have. It bothers me a bit because as a student I feel it already.
But experiencing not-so-hard life, it also makes me “Ow really? Okay. I wish for our Society’s success”. As easy as that FOR NOW.

But of course I’m hoping for an improvement. I hope everyone may think about what they can do for a better change right?

We need not just a fair economy and government but also a fair people living here. We complete this society so we're the one who's responsible for improving it.

My Beautiful Target

 When I was a kid, I always pretend to be someone who cooks. One time, my neighbor scolded her daughter for giving me an eggplant. Which I cooked and put stuffs like flowers, leaves, etc. ….. You know? Experimenting foods like what I used to see. I really want to be a chef, but that’s not what my parents want me to.

They want me to become a doctor like my aunt. But do I need to do that because that’s what they want me to? They’re my parents and knows what best for me. But that’s not what I want. And it bothers me at first because I know how hard was that. So I tried my best to convince them ….. and TADAAA~ here I am.

(again) I currently taking my course Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management with Specialization in Cruise Line Operations in Culinary Arts. With this, I follow the steps that I must take. Little by little, I know that I’m doing what I need to do to aim my goals in life.

I usually ask myself; “How do FAMOUS people get well known?” I mean..how did they do that? No one really knows that they’ll become popular. Most of them were used to be a commoner, then BAAAM! We can find their names even if we don’t look for them. Then it makes up that “Did they put effort on that?” Well I guess. They can’t do things without putting efforts into it.

So because of that, I know that with my little efforts, everything will be done well.

Pacific Princess

 I can at least see myself as a “Luxury Cruise Chef” Hahahaha so soon? Why not? There’s nothing wrong of dreaming. Having a goal in life. People said; “Don’t dream high because when you failed, it seems like you fall from that high and it will hurt you” (not exactly..hahaha). But for me, everyone must dream HIGH. Why? Because for me if you have higher goals in life, even if you can’t be that successful one, you can end up having a higher position someday. And you can say that it will hurt you because you know to yourself that you’ve tried and make every things possible.

Chapters of MY own story ;)

 I learned how to write and read at Day Care Center. Well..I guess we really have to start there to learn the basics. From grades 1-5, I studied at St. Emilene Academe but had to transfer  and continue to study at Vox Dei Play and Learn Center for my 6^th grade. YOOOSH~ Luckily I graduated and took my 4 years in High School at Imus Institute. I’ve learned so many things in High School. I didn’t even noticed that time flies so fast that I have to graduate and leave. But that school will always be my Alma Mater.

Now In Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), currently taking my course Cruiseline Operation in Culinary Arts (CLOCA), trying and working out for my dreams.

It will takes time … a long long time to spend leaving your house to study, going back home for assignments, and staying late at night for projects and reports, but we all need to do our bests for our future.

Yes I know that each students were the one who’s responsible for everything that they might get in future. But I can also admit that there are times (I mean MOST of the time) that students, even I, forget the value of Education. There are so many reasons why. But let’s all try to balance everything. :)

A Crazy Obsession(?)

Hobbies and Interests? It all points out KPOP

                                             People keeps on asking why do we like KPOP?
                                              Can I call that an obsession? Hmmmmm… 
                                                  Since grade 5 I really adore KPOP.
                                              Not just by how they perform on stage but by how
                                                 they treat and interact with their precious fans.
                                             I spent my free time listening, and watching their
                                           videos, and spent money for buying albums and
                                                   attending events and concert.
                                        We can’t understand them, they don’t know that
                               I exist, can’t even buy 1 plane ticket to go where they are, YES.
                              But I really don’t find that as a barrier between a fan and an idol.
                              If you love something, you don’t care what other people will think.
                                              If that what makes you happy, go for it.
                                           Make them an inspiration not destruction
                                           and prove other people that it’s not that bad.

Because of my interest, I tried my best to learn their way of speaking and writing. I’m not that good at understanding their words but just few of their basics. Thru my self-study, I've learned how to write and read Hangul (their alphabet). Actually…it’s fun. Though I’m studying, I feel like I’m just playing. I didn't get tired and feels excited every time I open my notebook to practice.

I, Me, My, Mine (4minute)

 Hi! Let me introduce myself first ;)

I’m Julie Anne Maidel Trasmonte Solares *coughs* too long right? You can call me Jay. It’s my nickname.
But you can call me Julie ..or Anne?...or Maidel? Hahahaha whatever makes you comfortable.  September 18, 1997 when my mom gave birth at Pasay City where they used to live before.
My Mamang and Papang raised me after both of my parents leave to work abroad. They took good care of me. From leading me to my first steps, from my first day in school, until now. I only have cousins to play with because unfortunately, my mother and father can’t give me siblings. But yeah~ Living life as it is.  Being contented and happy.

Sometimes if I have spare time, I read novels.
It’s not my forte, but trying to experience something new for myself, I read. I mostly read online. Fanfictions I guess. Because they said, you must read your interests first, then you’ll find it as a hobby soon.

For now, like a typical student…study, goes out (if I have enough allowance haha), doing stuffs that makes fun, Movie marathon (particularly Korean movies and reality shows), attend Saturday Mass (to thank God ofcoarse), and eat. xD

And one of my Best(s) experience happened last January 19, 2013 where I was given a chance to see my idols perform live.  It makes me cry because of the happiness that I felt.
And the other one was last February 14, 2014 Valentines and our
JS Prom. It’s our last prom being a high school student so we made it a memorable one.
